This course is the final ASL course in a series of six and focuses on advanced ASL vocabulary and language skills. Students wil be expected to learn and apply previously and newly acquired vocabulary to a variety of Legal and Business situations. Course content will be applied using simulated interpreting situations, class presentations and group discussions. Students will develop the ability to recognize various uses of ASL in these contexts. Emphasis will also be on developing skills to handle language in emotive contexts. Students will be expected to demonstrate an advanced level of ASL proficiency and the ability to recognize complex structures in ASL and various signing styles.
