Pets For Adoption | St. Clair College

If you are looking for a new cat or dog, please contact Betsy Wismer, RVT, Vet Tech Program Technician, to make an appointment.

The Veterinary Technician Program is dedicated to teaching, learning and giving many animals a second chance at finding new, loving homes. Through education and hands-on learning, our students are able to improve many animal lives. Students, staff and the community are invited to adopt animals from our facility when the animals have been temperament tested and examined for medical concerns.

Our adoptable dogs  have had the following medical and health treatments:

  • Heartworm check
  • Vaccinations
  • Parasite Check and Deworming
  • Spay/Neuter (depending on age and condition)

Our adoptable cats  have had the following medical and health treatments:

We have many repeat customers and we strive to make sure that the animal you choose will fit your lifestyle and family.

The viewing of animals is by appointment only!

If a potential adopter is interested in one of the pets, they must email Betsy Wismer with their information.

This is who is looking for a new home this month:

Breed: Shepherd Mix

Colour: Black/Tan/White

Age: 2 Years Old

Gender: Female (Spayed)

This is Ellie. She is a spayed, 2-year-old Shepherd mix. She has a great temperament, loves everyone and is always happy to see you. She is active, playful and very smart!

She would be a great addition to any home. She does know her basic commands and is fun to walk, however, she still requires some continued training.

Breed: Labrador Retriever

Colour: Golden

Age: ~1 Year Old

Gender: Male (Neutered)

Meet Hank! Hank is close to a year in age. He is neutered, healthy and ready to go!

He has a wonderful personality, is happy, and affectionate, and would be suitable for most homes. He requires daily hugs, walks and attention.

He needs someone who will continue with his basic commands and add on to them as he is food-motivated and smart! He is trained to walk with a halti.

Breed: Basset Mix

Colour: Mixed

Age: 5-6 Years Old

Gender: Male

Hi all, meet Eeyore. He is a Basset mix, roughly 5-6 years of age and he lives up to his name!

You can't help but love him as he is very laid back and has a wonderful temperament. He gets along with everyone and everything. Slow moving, a smell-the-roses kinda guy.

He would be perfect for anyone who is looking for a companion but not a lot of work.
