This course, which is part four of a six-part series, focuses on advanced conversational skills. Students will be expected to discuss more advanced topics in ASL using correct register, vocabulary and grammatical structures in ASL. Intermediate Contrastive Text Analysis between English and ASL will also be taught and evaluated. Application of sign varieties appropriate public speaking skills will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate a more advanced and professional language level. Further teaching of more advanced vocabulary in the social service and education area will also be included. There will be a continued focus on research and analysis of ASL linguistics.
