This course, which is part three of a six part series, focuses on advanced conversational skills. Students will be expected to discuss a variety of topics in ASL using correct register, vocabulary, and grammatical structures in ASL. Intermediate Contrastive Text Analysis between English and ASL will also be taught and evaluated. Application of sign varieties and appropriate public speaking skills will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate a more advanced and professional language level. Also, there will be a more in-depth linguistic research component in this course than in previous ASL courses.
