This course is the second of a six-part course stream that focuses on the student's ability to further develop and correctly utilize American Sign Language. Course study will include ASL grammar and syntax, as well as linguistic contrastive analysis between ASL and English grammatical structures. An introduction of ASL variations, regional signs and linguistic influences from social, ethnic, gender, age and education will also be taught and analyzed. Students are expected to demonstrate a more professional level of communication in ASL with minimal errors in the content areas covered.
