Last patients discharged from field hospital at St. Clair College
The last of the 50 patients treated for COVID-19 at Windsor Regional Hospital's field hospital on the grounds of St. Clair College have been released.
They have returned safely to the Heron Terrace long-term care home in east Windsor.
College to resume limited in-person classes in July
St. Clair College President Patti France applauded Wednesday's announcement by Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano, allowing colleges to resume limited in-person classes in a range of programs that require hands-on work so that students can complete their studies.
"We are, of course, elated by the Minister's announcement," France said.
Athletics suspended for fall
St. Clair College’s varsity schedule for the 2020 fall season has been suspended, following an announcement Monday by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association in consultation with its member institutions.
The sports impacted by this decision include baseball, softball, soccer, golf and cross-country running.
Fall start date set for Sept. 21
St. Clair College will delay the start of its fall semester by two weeks, with classes commencing Monday, Sept. 21 and running for 13 weeks.
The move allows staff enough time to prepare for the possibility of a blended delivery system of both online and in-person classes and labs, according to Waseem Habash, Vice President, Academic.
