St. Clair Women's Soccer Team Defeat Lambton

(Amherstburg, Ontario) – The St. Clair women's soccer team cruised to an easy 5-0 victory on Thursday evening over the Lambton Lions at home in Amherstburg in OCAA soccer action.

The Saints got off to a great start as Jaclyn French (Windsor; FJ Brennan) scored at the 6 minute mark on a penalty kick after a hand ball in the box. Cassie Nicholas (Windsor; Holy Names) put St. Clair up 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 25th minute on another handball in the box. Ryan Morneau (Windsor; L’Essor) put the Saints up 3-0 in the 61st minute. Lindsay Campbell (LaSalle; Villanova) and Natalie Turner (Windsor; Holy Names) rounded out the scoring in the 76th and 81st minutes. Madison Kaldenbach (Milton; Craig Kielburger) earned the clean sheet turning aside all 3 shots she faced.

St. Clair dominated the play throughout the game but had trouble finishing on their attempts. The Saints had 39 shot attempts compared to 4 for the Lions. The Lambton keeper had a great game making 26 saves. The Saints had 14 corner kicks while the Lions had 2.

With the win the Saints are now 3-3-2 on the season.

Men's Soccer Defeat Lambton

(Amherstburg, Ontario) – The St. Clair men's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 victory on Thursday night over the Lambton Lions at home in Amherstburg in OCAA soccer action.

The Saints got off to a great start with Drew Grantham (St. Thomas; St. Joseph’s) scoring at the 13 minute mark. Grantham put St. Clair up 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Tyrone Mulder (Merlin; Chatham-Kent) made it 4-0 on two nice goals scoring in the 73rd and 75th minutes. Chris Spadafora (LaSalle; Villanova) rounded out the scoring in the 89th minute. Haiden Gelinas (Windsor; St. Joseph’s) earned the clean sheet turning aside all 5 shots he faced including a couple tough ones in the second half.

St. Clair dominated the play throughout the game. The Saints had 29 shot attempts compared to 7 for the Lions. The Lambton keeper had a great game making 11 saves. The Saints had 9 corner kicks while the Lions had just 1.

With the win the Saints are now 4-4 on the season.
