Saints 3-1 winners over Georgian

(Windsor, Ontario) - The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team got a huge playoff win over the Georgian College Grizzlies on Saturday night at the Sportsplex in front of a huge crowd.

The Saints took down a stubborn Grizzlies squad by a score of 3-1. After dropping the first set 22-25 St. Clair rebounded to win three straight sets by scores of 25-17, 27-25 and 25-13. Middle Jessica Masse (Cottam) led the way offensively with 15 kills on 23 attacks, 2 stuff blocks, 3 service aces and 3 digs. Outside hitter Taylor Fitzgerald (Windsor) also had a solid match with 10 kills on 24 attacks along 13 digs. The St. Clair women are currently ranked 3rd in Ontario. The Grizzlies finished in 6th place in the OCAA East Division with a record of 9-9.

With the win the Saints advance to the OCAA Championship being hosted by Centennial College in Toronto from February 22-24. St. Clair will take on the host Centennial Colts in the OCAA Quarterfinal on Thursday at 6 pm.
