ECE in China presentation

(China) - Early Childhood Education students in Windsor, along with Professor Kathryn Markham-Petro, went to China for completion of their final field placement and to provide training to educators and parents.

Four students were placed in Chongqing, China with our College partner Chongqing Dianhong Education-Morning Star Kindergarten and four were placed with our College partner, Kunming University in their Kindergarten Program.

Our students had many opportunities to not only apply what they have learned in our Early Childhood Education program with the children in the kindergarten programs, but experienced some of the culture of the area and the rich history of China.

Kathryn was involved in over 15 training sessions between Chongqing and Kunming, speaking to staff, university students and parents about early learning and care.

Students and staff met with Dr. Peter Liao, Trade Commissioner at Canada’s Chongqing Consulate General and to be featured on the Embassy’s social media during our time in China. The group shared interesting lessons on the history of Canada and China and discussed the importance of global education for all of Canada and China’s citizens.
