A message to all staff and students from President Patti France - (February 1, 2024)

Dear Saints:

As a follow-up regarding the Transit Windsor communication sent on January 13, 2024, please note that although talks between the two sides will continue this week – and we hope a settlement will be reached – the union has announced that, failing a resolution, its members will move forward with a work stoppage at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024.

We encourage those that rely upon buses, to use this “advance notice” of the work stoppage to arrange for alternate transportation.

In the event of a work stoppage by Transit Windsor, the College will provide all students who hold a valid Transit Windsor bus pass with a $275.00 credit, that will be applied to their student account to offset any additional expenses they may incur in finding alternate transportation. This will be done in the form of a bursary and is outside the potential possibility of receiving any refund from Transit Windsor for the cost of your “Transit Windsor Bus Pass” prorated for the Winter semester.

We have reiterated to our faculty and staff that this transportation disruption may severely interfere with the ability of many students to attend their classes. We are confident that those caring educators will take the steps necessary to assist those affected students, by ensuring (for instance) that in-class material and lecture notes are made available via Blackboard and/or other electronic means.

As always, St. Clair College is here to support you! Please find the following available services and resources at

Please reach out to Student Services to arrange for make-up assessments, as required. All make-up fees will be waived in the event of a work stoppage.

    Past Communications:

    Dear International Saints:

On January 22, 2024, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) announced a national cap on study permits for two years. At this time, we are still waiting to fully understand how study permits will be distributed in Ontario's post-secondary sector and the impacts to St. Clair College.

Please be assured that students currently in Canada attending St. Clair College should not be affected by this recent announcement. This includes current students registered at our Ace Acumen campuses in partnership with St. Clair College. You are assured continued eligibility for post-graduate work permits.

Our international students have become a treasured presence on our campuses, and anything that may adversely affect your education or that may cause you some stressful moments is a concern to all of us.

We appreciate that this new information may generate numerous questions and uncertainty. We need a few days to obtain further clarity regarding the implementation and the timing of the reforms for prospective students.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through this information.
