Financial management builds on concepts previously studied in accounting and economics. Basic economic theory will be used throughout so students understand how money is raised for capital projects and operations of sport organizations. Not-for-profit organizations, their issues and challenges are examined in addition to the profit oriented enterprise. Topics include: the time value of money, sources of capital, current economic environment, subsidy, economic impact analysis, revenues, management of expenses, and the use of public funds for sport facilities.
