Students will be introduced to a wide variety of fetal pathologies, anomalies and maternal complications with a focus on the description of the condition, its clinical presentation, typical and atypical sonographic appearance(s), the differential diagnosis involved and the optimum scanning techniques in imaging the abnormality and associated findings. Students will continue to develop and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills in the planning of the examination through to the technical analysis of sonographic data. Simulation lab experience will allow the student the opportunity to develop advanced scanning skills involved in 3D and Doppler techniques.
