Students are taught the required elements of obtaining blood samples and interpreting related reports, including blood gases, blood chemistry and complete blood counts. Fluid equilibrium and acid-base balance are also addressed. Topics will range from the technical aspects of blood sampling and analysis to the clinical implications of blood testing results. Calculations performed using collected data from basic and advanced testing/sampling will be completed.
