This course integrates theoretical concepts in topics related to vapour compression and air conditioning systems. Students study the design, layout, principle of operation and maintenance of refrigeration compression, air conditioning, and absorption refrigeration systems used in industry, including information outlined in CSA-B52. The design and operation of steam, hot water and glycol coils in buildings are covered. Concepts and calculations related to HVAC systems such as psychrometrics, comfort conditions and controls will be covered in this course as well.
