This course examines the two main areas of private law: torts and contracts. The course covers the legal principles of intentional torts and negligence, vicarious liability, strict liability and defences to tort claims. In contract law, students examine contract principles: from formation and requirements to discharge or breach. Contractual defects are examined as are defences and remedies. Case studies and practical examples are used to illustrate fundamental legal principles
