Students will be given a comprehensive overview of mass communications in Canada. They will learn about the key players who affect mass media, including people who work in mass media and their audiences and critics. Students will examine the roles played by government and business in mass communications and discuss a variety of relevant issues, including concentration of media ownership and dominance of American popular culture on Canada.
