This course examines non-invasive and invasive medical procedures, building a greater understanding of the Medical Esthetician's scope of practice within a medical setting. The emphasis is placed on understanding the differences between fractional and ablative resurfacing including indications, contraindications, and treatment alternatives, with a focus on pain management techniques. Students will learn about the risks and benefits associated with the various forms of anesthesia including regional blocks, local and tumescent anesthesia.
