This course will provide the learner with a detailed knowledge base of the principles, duties and responsibilities necessary to work effectively in the private investigation industry. The learner will interpret the Private Security and Investigative Services Act and related Code of Conduct. Students will also learn about the Provincial and Federal Statutes, the application of information laws and related legislation. Learners will apply investigative techniques while complying with principles of ethical reasoning. The importance of good oral and written communication skills, as well the qualities of a professional employed in this field will also be taught.
