This Graduate Certificate course equips students with a solid understanding of the relationships and varied interactions between a union and the employer. Key areas of study include an analysis of the legal and institutional frameworks within which unions operate, union policies and practices, management policies on labour, the collective bargaining, and arbitration processes, and typical contract language. The trend of labour relations in Canada will also be studied.
