This course continues the study of traditional illustration techniques and theories, with an emphasis on portraiture and structural approaches to rendering a sense of form on the picture plane. Other subjects will include perspective rendering, depth, and generating a sense of atmosphere within an environment. Students will be introduced to digital rendering, using industry standard software and pressure sensitive tablets to create imagery. Topics will range from the evolution of digital rendering in the industry to best practices, as they relate to technical specifications, as well as the parallels and differences that traditional and digital mediums afford today's graphic designer.
