This lecture and laboratory course is an introduction to the basic concepts of electronic communication systems. Topics include nature of periodic signals, implementation of the Fourier Series for periodic signal generation, the frequency domain, frequency mixing, balanced modulation, phase-locked loops, amplitude and angle modulation of a carrier wave (inclusive of the respective spectra, phasor and mathematical analysis), digital and data communication systems, and radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems.
