This area relates to the study of fixed and removable appliances and the DH role in meeting the specialized needs of clients related to various dental specialties. Types of appliances and their implications to dental hygiene care will be reviewed including denture-induced oral lesions, nutritional factors, dental implants, oral self-care aids and oral hygiene recommendations for the client with appliances.
