This course is designed to familiarize the student with the characteristics, rehabilitation, and management of clients who have physical, cognitive, psychogical, sensory or emotional needs. Recognizing barriers to care that influence access to care and how to customize the 5 phases of dental hygiene process of care to meet unique client needs will be examined. The importance of collaboration with other health care providers and other professionals to support quality care will be discussed.
