Environmental assessment ensures that development proceeds with full knowledge of the environmental consequences and the implentation of mitigating measures. This course will introduce the student to the process and practice of environmental assessment in Canada. This course will also introduce the student to environmental technology with emphasis on the construction industry. Topics include Federal, Provincial and Municipal environmental assessment, environmental site assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, sustainable building materials and LEED certification.
