Introduction to the design of structural steel components using the Canadian Limits States Design method and the provisions outlined in both the CSA S16-14 and CSA-G40.21 Standard for grade 350 steel. By the end of the course, students will be able to utilize the principles of engineering calculations and interpret codes, recognize symbols and terminology from the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) Handbook. The theory and practical design methods will give the student the essential understanding necessary to design steel structures.
