This course introduces the student to various skills and procedures required to work in a health care setting. Health and safety, infection prevention and control, body mechanics, mobility aids as well as basic patient care and assessment are examined in preparation for the first clinical rotation. There is also a review of the student clinical handbook and the clinical competencies required for the practicum. A mandatory lab is part of the course.
