This course is an introduction to the equipment commonly used by biomedical engineering technologists. Students will learn about the tools of the trade, the testing devices used for equipment validation, and how to calibrate medical equipment. They will learn how to maintain asset management records by recording key information in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This course will examine equipment used to monitor patients in a healthcare setting, from the perspective of repair, maintenance, and utilization.
