In order for individuals to function responsibly and to reach their potential personally within the context of today's vast array of communication vehicles, they need to understand traditional and newly emerging patterns of human communication that underlie the orderly exchange of information in a society's various structural units. This course will focus on the ability of different communications media in the development of beliefs, attitudes, lifestyles and political affiliations in a media environment oligopolistic ownership.
